Dragon Challenge Card

Here, I hope, is a different card for the Critter Sketch Challenge #39 - Dragons. See below for the web address) This card incorporates several of my favourite crafts - rubber stamping, encaustic art and Friendly Plastic.

For the image, the two dragons (Stamps by Encaustic Art International) were stamped with Stazon ink onto glossy card and allowed to dry. An encaustic art scene was then built up around the images in red, purple, dark blue to give a scene of mountains, plains and an unusual sky.

The card was then mounted into an aperture card which had been inked around the border with Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord Distress inks. This in turn was mounted onto some purple embossed mirror board and onto a dark purple a5 size base card.

The friendly plastic embellishment was made by lining up some thin stick of plastic, warming them with a heat gun until molten and then dragging a special comb though to give the feathered pattern. This was then cut out with a small cookie cutter and whilst still warm it was domed inwards to give the finished shape. This was bonded in position with several thicknesses of foam pads.

  2. Hi Shirl, stunning card I love it, Ive a friend who is very much your style of card and you should pop across and see her work, its Brenda of http://stamping-fantasies.blogspot.com/ this link will have to be cut and pasted into your search bar for you to go and visit her.
Anyway to try and talk you through the problem of linking the blogs on your post.
While you are writing your post, open a second tab and go to the challenge you want to enter it in, the cut and paste the search bar at the top of your page, then go back to the post and click on the link tab at the top next to the photo upload tab, open it, it will come up with two long squares for you to put either a word in the top box, but if you leave it empty and just paste the blog address from the challenge in the bottom box it will fill up the top box with the same address, then click on the Ok button it will then appear on your post, you can then highlight this with the blue box and change it to Itallics or leave it as it is. Then when youve posted your post, you then click on the link as in my posts and it will take you to the challenge blog. A lot of the challenges will now only let your joing their challenges as long as you have a back link and this is what that is. Hope this helps, with love and hugs Shirleyxxxxxxx
